Poppy Hills Golf Course is a heavily wooded course with numerous sand bunkers. I enjoyed the challenges and the speed of the greens. I didn’t keep score on this course because I was struggling a bit perhaps due to playing my second course of the day (Links of Spanish Bay). I played the Blacks and started off playing bogey golf though the 1st 4 holes. Then the double bogeys started to show up. Overall a great course to play.
Links at Spanish Bay is a spectacular golf course. Located along the Pacific Ocean, the sand and native grasses play on almost every hole. I shot an 93 from the Blues. I had 4 pars on the front and my only birdie was the par 3 #13 which I made a 20′ putt. I have Links of Spanish Bay and Spyglass Hill rated #7 of 148 courses I’ve played since 11/09/16 due to the layout and beauty of the course.
Spyglass hill is is an outstanding course. The scenery is amazing along the Pacific and though the Del Monte forest. I shot an 96 from the Blues. Mostly 3 putts and bad approaches. (seems to be my game). I played Links of Spanish Bay and Poppy Hills while in the Pebble Beach area. The main reasons why I played these courses is because I played them on Tiger Woods golf or on a simulator.
The Crossings at Carlsbad was one of the most difficult courses Iv’e ever played. It kind of reminded me of a course (Bully Pulpit- Medora North Dakota) but extremely more difficult. Every hole seemed you had to play Target golf, then once on the green- triple tiered, slopes and very fast. I have this course rated #2 of #148 courses I’ve played as of 11/09/16 mostly due to the difficulty and scenery. I shot an 96 from the Blacks and parred 7 holes.
Torrey Pines South Course was a fun course to play, I shot an 86 from the Blues, I 3 putt too much and some of that is my approach shots. The Men’s US Open has been played here as along with the Farmers Insurance Open. I showed up at 5:00 a.m. without a T Time and walked on with a group of 3. It was a misty foggy morning. I birdied the par 5 #6 & #18.
